ONE BOOK

(when she was 15)

Many books have come and gone

since the days of long ago

but one book still remains

It’s the Word of God, you know

The Holy Bible, we call it

twas inspired by God you see

and that is why it has lasted

through all ages of history

Some “scholars” try to undermine

this blest books authority

but God made us a promise

that will last through eternity

Others say you cannot understand

the real meaning true and deep

unless of course, if you can read

the Hebrew and the Greek

Still there are others out there

who claim it’s not for today

“You don’t need to obey what you read

it’s just an ideal” they say

The reason God gave us this book

is plain and clear to see

it tells us all have sinned

and Christ died to pay sins penalty

So believe what you read

in God’s Holy Word

For Christ has promised us

He’ll take us from this world

But God has also said

that those who will not heed

will perish if in the Book of Life

their names He does not read

IMAGINE THE NIGHT

Imagine the night so long ago

when God sent us salvation

The child was Emmanuel

the Saviour of the nations

What must it have been like

to see Him lying there

and think that He had come

from heaven’s portal fair

Just think if you had been there

alive and heard Him speak

“come unto me” and I will save

all those who truly seek

Now you were not there

and you might claim

“I never heard His call”

but He still speaks to you today

through the blessed Holy Bible

So if you will obey

what was written by the Lord

some day He’ll come to you

and take you from this world

THE ANSWER FOR ATHEISTS

The atheists believe in everything

except the Bible and the Lord

they think they came from monkeys

or some strange animal horde

because they do not want

God as their solution

they came up with a hair-brained scheme

and called it evolution

so now instead of creation

it is taught that man evolved

but the problem of sin

never does get solved

also there’s the theory

that they named big bang

but as far as the evidence

there’s no proof from that gang

so if you are one of those

who thinks Grandma came from apes

you have been watching

too many Hollywood video tapes

you see, all men are born in sin

especially men like Charles Darwin

the only answer is to REPENT

of all this foolish folly

receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour

and you will not be sorry

believe the Bible, that it’s true

your life will soon be changed

and you will see that evolution

has no thread

on which to hang

THE ANSWER TO THIS DIFFERENT WORLD

so many things are different

in our world today

many things that used to be wrong

are now considered “okay”

kids believe swearing and vulgar talk

are words acceptable to say

not knowing that they will stand before the Judge

one of these days

boys play violent games

and watch trashy picture shows

girls pile on the makeup

and wear only half their clothes

teens are wearing metal rings

in their eyes, their ears, their nose

pretty soon it will be a fad

to have them in their toes

Moms and dads spend more time

watching the television

and know less about the Bible

than football, fashion and fishin’

So the end of this poem

is for you to do what’s right

smash the idiot box

and read the Bible every night

dress up little Suzy

so she’s no longer bare

take away Johnny’s Sega game

and teach him God’s holy names

Sanctify the Lord in your heart

serve him in whole, not just in part

men be men and lead the family

do not waste another day

for because of slothful worldly fathers

many children have gone astray

oh I pray that you will see

the importance of this

and do not waste another day

I BELIEVE IN HAVING CHILDREN

I believe in having children

so does the Word of God

if you are not so fond of them

you surely are a clod

If the Lord gave you a million dollars

you would jump for wonderful joy

but rather than having a quiver-full

you prefer your brand new toys

If only that your eyes were open

then you would understand

that this is Satan’s ploy...

To have only one girl and half a boy

GONE ARE THE DAYS

gone are the days when parents cared

gone are the days when people shared

gone are the days when the Bible was taught

gone are the days when mostly necessities were bought

gone are the days when going to church was esteemed

gone are the days when man sought to be redeemed

for now man thinks that man is God

he wants to be updated, modern and mod

schools tell students that we came from apes

they all must be drunk on fermented grapes

for when mankind of today

meets God face to face

the Creator of all

will put man in his place

IT USED TO BE

It used to be that children

were wanted and desired

now they just make parents

unhappy and very tired.

It used to be that free time

was an almost unheard of thing

now boys and girls waste their time

instead of enjoying walks and swings.

It used to be that fathers

read the Bible every night

now they turn the t.v. on

and think it a great sight.

It used to be that mom’s

took care of the little ones

now they go off to work

instead of train their daughters and sons.

It used to be that young girls

learned how to use a broom

now they are taught wicked things

as soon as they exit from the womb.

It used to be that government

believed in deity and the Word of God

now it is against the law

to have prayer and use the rod.

It used to be that Christians

believed in judgment from the Son

now all they want to do

is play and have some fun

It used to be that children in school

threw papers at each other

now they carry guns and knives

and care little about one another.

It used to be that poems

were just written for some fun

now sometimes it is the only way

to get through to someone.
